Dear Veterans,

Due to shipping delays caused by the recent holidays and the COVID-19 pandemic, there may be a delay in arrival of your ordered prescriptions.

The Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS) Pharmacy recommends that Veterans order refills of prescribed medications as soon as they receive the initial shipment to help minimize future delays and prevent lapses in medication. With current delays, prescriptions arrive by mail in about 4 to 6 days. However, delays are influenced by a variety of external factors, including distance of a Veteran’s residence to a postal hub. If ordered medications do not arrive within seven days, Veterans should call the CVHCS Pharmacy at 1-800-784-8381 or 804-675-5010. The Pharmacy Department and the entire CVHCS team are committed to assisting with your prescription all other health care needs.
