October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched the White Ribbon VA Campaign, which is a month-long national call to action to prevent and eliminate sexual harassment and domestic violence. You're invited to take action and pledge to never commit, tolerate or remain silent about violence against others.

Tennessee Valley is committed to taking the pledge to stop harassment, are you?

During our flu drive-thru event last week, Veterans got their flu shot with a complimentary care kit. TVHS handed out 1,000 care kits and inside was a white lapel ribbon to signify stopping harassment and making a commitment to promote a positive change.

VR/CWT Week

Vocational Rehabilitation and Compensated Work Therapy Week is a VHA recovery-oriented, vocational recovery-oriented program that serves more than 62,000 Veterans each year. The core philosophy of CWT is all persons with a disability can contribute to the workforce given the right supports, and no one should be excluded from the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to his or her community.

National Pharmacy Week

This week is National Pharmacy Week. TVHS pharmacists and pharmacy technicians processed and delivered more than 1.8 Million medications this past year and served more than 85,000 customers. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians play an integral role in medication safety and error prevention and this week we want to celebrate them! When you see our pharmacists and technicians, please wish them a Happy Pharmacy Week!

2020 1A co-worker of the year

Congrats to Viengdara Sariya for being voted by her peers as the 2020 1A co-worker of the year.

Her award reads: “For your unwavering dependability and cheerfulness, hard work and customer service, and willingness to always lend a helping hand.”
