Veterans who are experiencing medical or mental health emergencies are asked to visit the nearest emergency room or dial 9-1-1. This page is designated for imminent emergency situations that may impact operations, such as hurricanes. Tropical Storm Beta Update (September 20, 2020)Update 9/22/20 3:00 p.m.: Based upon Tropical Storm Beta's progression and the possibility of more rain through Tuesday and into Wednesday, the Galveston and Beaumont VA Outpatient Clinics will remain closed Wednesday. The Texas City Clinic will open at noon Wednesday. The Houston VA Medical Center and all other outpatient clinics will remain open. Staff are calling Veterans to reschedule visits. Veterans with questions about their appointments can call 713-794-8985. Please monitor our social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter) and here for any updates, and for important information to help keep you and your loved ones safe in inclement weather. While many of our Veteran appointments are being performed virtually via our VA Video Connect app or telephone, we are open for non-elective surgeries, necessary medical procedures, diagnostic imaging and other services necessary to manage the health of our Veteran patients.
