NATIONAL ALERT: New Course Requirement for Providers

VA Telehealth National Alert
Alert

Effective immediately, the Virtual Care Manager Training course (TMS 4486527) is now a critical course that all VA providers are required to complete by March 31, 2020. In response to emerging public health concerns, VA’s Office of Connected Care, through its Quality and Training Division, has implemented this new requirement to ensure that all providers are telehealth capable.

Ensuring that all providers are proficient in Virtual Care Manager will help foster a seamless and safe Telehealth experience for providers and Veterans as VA encourages the use of VA Video Connect (VCC) appointments in response to current public health concerns.

Virtual Care Manager is a tool for scheduling and reviewing VVC appointments. The tool streamlines the appointment process by:

  • Allowing providers to schedule and review VVC appointments.
  • Enabling clinicians to view pending video visits, join scheduled sessions, and create ad hoc video visits from one location.
  • Allowing Veterans’ caregivers or family members and other VA staff to be invited to a Veteran’s ad hoc video visit.

To provide additional assistance, the Quality and Training team is offering Virtual Care Manager office hours for VVC providers every Tuesday and Thursday through May 18.

For issues with Virtual Care Manager, including problems accessing the application or issues creating a video visit, contact the Mobile Service Desk by email at help@vamobile.us, or by dialing 844-482-6624 and selecting option 3.
