February 13, 2020 2 pm - 3 pm
VA Chapel West Palm Beach VA Medical Center 7305 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410

The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center will hold its annual Four Chaplains Interfaith Memorial Service honoring the anniversary of the sinking of the USS Dorchester.
The memorial service will honor the men who perished on the USS Dorchester in 1943 by telling the story of the Four Chaplains two Protestant Chaplains, a Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic Priest, recognized for trying to save those aboard by handing out life jackets and helping men leave the ship. When the Dorchester went down, the arms of the Chaplains were linked together and they were singing hymns and singing prayers. Out of the 902 men aboard, 672 lost their lives.
A goal of the Memorial Service is to encourage “unity without uniformity” by inspiring goodwill and cooperation among all people.
This event is open to the public. For questions contact the Chaplain Service at 561-422-5661.
