The UroMonitor, a flexible, durable, and biocompatible device that wirelessly transmits bladder data without catheters to improve the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence & voiding dysfunction, was one of five 1st place winners in the worldwide 8th annual M2D2 $200K Challenge, receiving $25k of in-kind funding from Hologic.

In a change from previous years, the winners were grouped into tiers for first, second, and third places to recognize every winning innovation in the most appropriate manner.

A new record was set with over 150 applications and the 19 finalists, all presenting early-stage medical device, diagnostic, and biotech innovations, were eligible for a share of $200,000 in sponsor-provided, in-kind services, including lab and office space, engineering, product development, legal, regulatory, clinical, and business services.

All finalists displayed and demonstrated their ideas at the M2D2 Challenge Finalist Pitch-Off on March 27 at University of Massachusetts Lowell’s University Crossing and the Challenge winners were announced on April 10.

Development and testing of the UroMonitor is a joint project between APT Center, Cleveland Clinic, and Parker Hannifin, taking advantage of the capabilities of all three institutions.
