SECURE MESSAGING through MyHealtheVet 

You can securely message your VA Healthcare team from your home computer or wherever you happen to be with your smart-phone.

**MHV Secure Messaging is the only authorized, secure method of messaging with the VA.**


Would you like to find out how easy it is to send a secure message to your VA Healthcare team?

 

You can send a test-message to AskMyHealtheVet:

  1. Login to MyHealtheVet at www.myhealth.va.gov
  2. Select "Secure Messaging" in the navigation bar, or "Messages" in the main body
  3. Select "Compose a Message"
  4. From the drop-down menu on the To line, select:  Ask MHV_MyHealtheVet_Maine$
  5. Select the General radio-button for a subject category
  6. Enter a subject in the Subject Line box
  7. Enter your message in the "Message" area
  8. Select Send

Your message is being delivered!!

You should receive a reply from your VA health team within 1-3 business days.

Not only can you send a secure message to your VA Health Care team, here are some of the other helpful features you have available through your premium account: 

Refill prescriptions online,      
    check appointments, 
       make or request primary care and mental health appointments on-line,
         review labs,
           read progress notes,
               download parts of your health record,
                 send a secure message to your healthcare teams,
and download your medical images!

You can call our national My HealtheVet helpdesk, 877-327-0022 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. (Eastern), Monday through Friday. You can also call VA Maine's coordinator Mike L'Abbe, (207) 512-6983 or Togus extension 5924.

TIP:  If you do not have prescription refills available, you can send a secure message to your healthcare team and request a prescription renewal.  Through Secure Messaging you can also update your VA health care team on your health condition.  And you can request VA referrals!
