Dear VA Maryland Health Care System E-News Subscriber:

The VA Maryland Health Care System and the Baltimore VA Regional Office are hosting a Summer of Service Open House, Navigation Seminar & Town Hall on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Gymnasium, Building 314 at the Perry Point VA Medical Center.

During the Open House, VA staff will be available to answer questions and to assist Veterans in completing applications for VA health care and VA compensation benefits. VA staff will also be available to provide information about the services offered to Veterans by the VA Maryland Health Care System and the Baltimore VA Regional Office.

During the Navigation Seminar & Town Hall, which will run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the medical center’s theater, Veterans will learn about specific programs and services offered by the VA Maryland Health Care System and the Baltimore VA Regional Office, and they will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments.

Veterans interested in applying for VA health care during the Open House must bring a photo ID and financial information from the previous year. Veterans are encouraged to bring a copy of their discharge papers (Form DD-214), but it is not required to apply for enrollment. Veterans may complete the VA health care enrollment application at the Open House or they can expedite the process by accessing the application for health benefits (VA Form 10-10EZ) at https://www.1010ez.med.va.gov/sec/vha/1010ez/ and bringing a printed copy of the form to the event.

Veterans who will be attending the Open House, Navigation Seminar & Town Hall for claim related issues are asked to contact the Baltimore VA Regional Office at (410) 637-6950 to RSVP and provide important information needed to enhance services provided while onsite. Benefits counselors will be available throughout the Open House to answer questions and address claims related concerns. Veterans will also be provided information on how to expedite filing claims for faster processing times.

For more information about this free event for Veterans, please call the Community Outreach Office for the VA Maryland Health Care System at 1-800-949-1003, extension 6071.
