Dear GI Bill® student,
This is a reminder that when you are using Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits, you must verify your enrollment at the end of each month. If you fail to verify your enrollment, VA is required to stop your education benefit payments until the required enrollment verification is made.
There are a variety of ways to verify your enrollment, such as through text, email, Ask VA, phone or online.
For text verification, you should automatically be enrolled in text verification unless you specifically opt out. When you start your program, you will receive a text asking if you want to verify your enrollment by text. If you respond “yes,” you will receive a text every month asking you to verify your enrollment.
For email verification, if you choose not to get text messages or you don’t use texting, you will receive an email instead to verify your enrollment each month. This message will be sent to the email address VA has in its records for you.
You can change the way you verify your enrollment to whichever method is most convenient for you. If you encounter any issues with a verification method, or have any questions about verifying your enrollment, please contact VA through Ask VA or by calling the Education Call Center.
Respectfully,
Education Service
