DGIB Release 6 (new financial platform) launched

Dear School Certifying Official,

Today, July 8, 2024, VA rolled out Release 6, marking another major milestone in Digital GI Bill (DGI) history. Release 6 transitions Chapter 33 payments processing from the Benefits Delivery Network (BDN) to the modernized Enterprise Management of Payments, Workload, and Reporting (eMPWR) platform. Completing this transition is a pivotal step towards decommissioning BDN, as VA continues working diligently to modernize our systems.

As of today back-end claims processing has resumed that was delayed during the blackout period for the Release 6 conversion. Please continue certifying all students as normal.

Release 6 also consolidated all Chapter 33 claims processing functionalities into DGI. Ultimately, these updates will improve the overall customer experience by providing more secure, efficient and accurate Chapter 33 benefits processing.
