We have identified you as someone who is receiving Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC), Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA) or the Post 9/11 GI Bill Fry Scholarship. If that is not the case, our apologies and you can disregard this message.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is not authorized to provide a beneficiary’s personal information to outside entities. However, we can share information with you on their behalf. Recently the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (https://www.fallenpatriots.org/) reached out to VA and asked if we could share information about their foundation with you. We welcome the opportunity to make our Veterans and beneficiaries aware of other opportunities, but this is not an endorsement of this organization by VA.
The Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation provides college scholarships and educational counselling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty or due to service connection. They may be able to provide additional assistance to help you with educational costs that may not be covered by GI Bill benefits. Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation also offers students stipends and reimbursements for other expenses beyond what the VA would cover, such as SAT/ACT and college application fees, prior out-of-pocket tuition payments, living expenses, and a computer. There is no age limit or deadline to apply, and funding can be awarded to college students throughout the year.
