Dear School Certifying Official,

For your awareness, the following message is being sent to Post-9/11 GI Bill recipients.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) team, in partnership with the Department of the Treasury, successfully executed the priority task and ensured Post-9/11 GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) payments were disbursed expeditiously. Rather than the anticipated business day delay, electronic payments should be deposited into beneficiaries’ bank accounts later today (3/31/2023). Please review your account after 6:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time to validate receipt of the monthly MHA deposit. 

For those receiving MHA payments by check, the US Postal Service will start mailing these checks this afternoon (3/31/2023) or tomorrow (4/1/2023).

Again, VA apologizes for any inconvenience the delay in payment posting caused. We remain committed to analyzing the root cause(s) of this event so we can prevent future occurrences.
