School Certifying Officials,
We're excited to share a new tip with you this week as you continue to become familiar with Enrollment Manager. Each tip was designed to help you navigate Enrollment Manager and support your GI Bill® students with their varying needs.
In addition to viewing a student’s entitlement, Enrollment Manager shows you the number of benefits remaining, benefits level and your student’s contact information. Be sure to add your student’s email address, if possible, as it can be used to search for the student. For existing students, please have them contact 888-GIBill-1, or Ask VA if their information needs to be updated.
SCOs asked, VA answered
Q: “Can you explain the benefits remaining field on the ‘Benefits’ tab?”
A: “The Benefit type field shows the current benefit your student is using for courses. The Benefit remaining shows the months and days your student has left until the benefit expires. Benefit level is the percentage of the benefit remaining.”
We hope you learned something new from this week's tip. To log in to Enrollment Manager please navigate to: https://iam.education.va.gov

Update on Transfer of Entitlement (TOE)
Effective February 19, 2021, a dependent using transferred Chapter 33 benefits may receive an entitlement extension to the end of term in accordance with Carr v. Wilkie if the Veteran did not receive an extension and when all shared entitlement from the Veteran has been used. Only one beneficiary, the last user exhausting entitlement, may receive an extension if they qualify for an extension in accordance with 38 U.S.C. 3031(f). Please note that retroactive funds were processed on/about March 6, 2023. Your school may have recently received a prorated tuition and fees (T&Fs) payment for the term during which your TOE student(s) exhausted their transferred entitlement. If the TOE student has already paid the outstanding charges for that term, this T&Fs payment should be refunded to the student.
Thanks,
Education Service
