DGIB Team Hosts Change Management Session for Enrollment Manager
On Friday, August 12, the Digital GI Bill (DGIB) Training and Communications teams hosted an Enrollment Manager (EM) Change Management session to discuss planned activities that will assist impacted stakeholders with the transition to EM. During the session, the team explained the change readiness assessment campaign which will utilize training completion, reminders, and escalation communications to help prepare stakeholders for EM. In addition to the readiness assessment campaign, the team will develop training videos, email campaigns, and other deliverables, as well as help support a School Certifying Official (SCO) EM workshop to support SCOs with the transition from VA-ONCE. With PI 8 beginning, the team is excited to execute the planned activities and provide resources to impacted stakeholders leading up to EM’s go-live.
DGIB Team Hosts Successful PI 8 Planning
The Digital GI Bill (DGIB) team successfully facilitated Program Increment (PI) 8 Planning from August 10-12. Over 400 team members gathered virtually to plan and align on project activities for the next 9 weeks.
During the session, the team reviewed PI 7 accomplishments, such as preparing for the DGI-3.1 release and developing the My Education Benefits (MEB) Change Management Plan. Teams later transitioned into breakout sessions to plan priorities and deliverables for the coming weeks. Top priorities for this PI include improving claims processing capabilities within the Managed Service, developing Enrollment Manager features and functionality to streamline School Certifying Official (SCO) processes, and creating communications and training content to prepare stakeholders for the upcoming changes in user interfaces. The DGIB team is confident in its path of modernizing and improving the GI Bill® experience for students, Veterans, and their families.

Change in Process for VA Employees Signing into eOPF
OPM has notified the VA of a change to their eOPF program that will provide enhanced security protections. Currently employees can sign into their eOPF using an eOPF ID/password combination or their PIV card. Effective August 29, 2022, employees will have to use their PIV cards to sign into their eOPF.
If an employee’s PIV card is not registered with eOPF, they will be prompted to register it before they are able to access their eOPF. To register a PIV card, employees must follow the instructions below:
-
Go to https://eopf.opm.gov/va/, click Accept and select the button that says "LOGIN WITH YOUR PIV OR CAC"
-
Select the certificate that has “Client Authentication” and “Smart Card Logon” capabilities. You will only need to do this once.
-
Enter your PIN. This is the PIN you created when you received your PIV/CAC.
-
Enter your eOPF ID and password. (NOTE: If the employee does not know their eOPF ID or password, they should be directed to the eOPF Administrator in their Servicing HR Office)
-
Click Continue and Continue to eOPF when the information is correct and, a message indicates your card registration was successful.
To ensure VA employees currently using their eOPF ID/password combination see no disruption in accessing their eOPF, it is recommended that their PIV cards be registered with eOPF before August 29, 2022.
