VA Pittsburgh Regional Office Status of Operations
The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Pittsburgh Regional Office (RO) is open from 8am-3pm, Monday-Friday (appointments preferred). Veterans with questions regarding their VA benefits are urged to continue scheduling virtual appointments with our Public Contact Team to address specific concerns and claims related inquiries. To schedule an appointment for in person or virtual services:
Effective August 2, 2021, masks must be worn by all persons wishing to access Moorhead Federal Building and the Pittsburgh VA Regional Office, regardless of vaccination status. Please note, this mandate is due to the CDC's classification of Allegheny County as demonstrating substantial transmission levels of COVID 19 in the community.
Veterans can continue to get information about benefits or file a claim for benefits by visiting our website at www.va.gov. For claims related or other questions, Veterans may request information via Inquiry Routing & Information System (IRIS) or by calling 1-800-827-1000. Veterans are also encouraged to continue with their appointed Veterans Service Officers.

2021 VA Federal Benefits Guide
Did you know that you can access the Federal Benefits Handbook for Veterans, Dependents, and Survivors online? The updated 2021 handbook contains a wealth of information about the broad range of benefits and services available to Veterans, Dependents, and Survivors, including pertinent phone numbers, websites, and basic eligibility requirements.

VBA partnered with Stars and Stripes—a longstanding multimedia organization focused on providing the latest news to the U.S. military community—to spread the word about VA benefits and services. We created a special edition insert, the Veterans Benefits Guide, to highlight VA benefits and services available for transitioning Service members and their families. The special addition guide is now available online.
The Veterans Benefits Guide features information on pre-discharge disability claims, VA life insurance conversion, the Transition Assistance Program, GI Bill benefits, and more. With a monthly readership of more than two million, this initiative will help Veterans, Service members, and their families better understand the benefits they're eligible for and how to apply.
