Bike Tour

Veterans Day Bike Tour

This Veterans Day, Pittsburgh Hires Veterans will be hosting its first Veterans Day Bike Tour. This 20-mile roundtrip bicycle tour of four area monuments is intended to be a unique way to acknowledge and honor those who have served and are continuing to serve our great nation.

We will begin with opening ceremonies at 9:00 am on Wednesday, November 11 at the World War II Memorial on the North Shore. We will then travel to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Korean War Memorial.  From the North Shore, we will make the trek to Homestead to visit Medal of Honor Recipient John D. Kelly's Memorial before returning to Pittsburgh's North Shore.  At each Memorial we will stop briefly to hear remarks from guest speakers. In Homestead we will have coffee and other warm drinks to help you warm up.

With many events being cancelled and postponed, we hope you will consider joining us this Veterans Day on our inaugural bike tour.  For more event information and registration, please visit:  https://pittsburghhiresveterans.org/engage/veterans-day-bike-tour/

Based on where you are in life, your VA benefits and services can support you in different ways. Keep your welcome kit handy so you can turn to it throughout your life—like when it’s time to go to school, get a job, buy a house, get health care, retire, or make plans for your care as you age.

Feel free to share this guide with friends or family members who need help with their benefits too. Download your VA Welcome Kit and print out copies for yourself and others!
