VR&E Program Participants

Subj: Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) Service Signals Transformation with New Name

Veterans and Servicemembers:

I am pleased to announce that VR&E Service has renamed our program. Beginning June 22, 2020, we will become Veteran Readiness and Employment Service. We will continue to abbreviate our program as VR&E.

We made this change to emphasize our mission to help Veterans reach their employment and career goals. We still provide the same services and your program will stay the same. We just want to make you aware of our name change.

Through talks with Veterans, Servicemembers, and Veterans Service Officers, we learned that the words “vocational” and “rehabilitation” create stigma and confusion about our program. This may deter potential program participants from seeking VR&E services.

We believe our new name and updated program brand demonstrate that VR&E is focused on helping Veterans pursue their career and employment goals. We also believe our new name will help lessen confusion about program benefits, build greater awareness, and increase participation in the program.

I hope you are as excited as I am about the renaming and rebranding of our program. I am proud to present to you below our new name, logo, and tagline.
