EIP May 5 deadline

Hi First Name Last Name,

Compensation and Pension Beneficiaries with Dependents – Submit your Dependent Info to IRS by May 5

VA Compensation and Pension (C&P) recipients with dependent children who did not file a 2018 or 2019 tax return should use the IRS Non-Filer Portal to provide dependent information to the IRS by May 5 to claim additional payments under the IRS “Plus $500” program. If Veterans are unable to make this deadline, they can still receive their “Plus $500” payment, at a later date, by submitting a simple tax return for their 2020 tax filing.

Veterans who receive VA Compensation and Pension (C&P) benefits but did not file a tax return will still automatically receive their $1200 Economic Impact Payment (EIP).

Veterans using GI Bill Benefits can File for their Economic Impact Payment

Veterans using their GI Bill benefit who do not receive Compensation and Pension benefits and have not filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return should visit the IRS Non-Filer Portal to ensure they receive an Economic Impact Payment (EIP).  We don’t want to see any Veteran left out of the Economic Impact Payments program.

There is no deadline for submitting information through the Non-Filer portal for GI Bill beneficiaries, however, Veterans are encouraged to submit their info as soon as possible in order to expedite their EIP.

Don’t wait and cause a delay to your EIP or Plus $500 payment, head to the IRS Non-Filer Portal now!

Respectfully,

Veterans Benefits Administration
