VA Updates the Rating Schedule for Some Disabilities

On August 11th, VA updated portions of the rating schedule that evaluate infectious diseases, immune disorders and nutritional deficiencies. By updating the rating schedule, Veterans now receive decisions based on the most current medical knowledge of their condition. Claims filed on or after August 11th will be rated under this new rating schedule. Claims pending prior to the update will be considered under the old and new schedules and whichever criteria is more favorable to the Veteran will be applied. Learn More

Get a new disability rating in the last 2 years?

If so, you may be eligible for Service-Disabled Veterans Insurance (S-DVI). Zero percent ratings are considered new ratings and are eligible. However, increases to existing ratings are not. Premiums may be waived in case of total disability. Read More
