Upcoming Events

2018 NVSBE Joins With SAME for a Co-located Event in New Orleans

Did you know? Over the next two years, VA will spend more than $5.9 Billion in Construction-related projects? The 2018 National Veterans Small Business Engagement (NVSBE) will be VA's first Targeted Industry Engagement (TIE) to ‘tie’ procurement-ready Veteran-Owned Small Businesses to Buyers with Construction-related opportunities. As a special bonus, NVSBE is co-located with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Conference featuring two major—but separate—events to maximize engagement between Buyers and Veteran Suppliers. Join us October 31–November 2, 2018, in New Orleans, Louisiana. See you in the Big Easy! Register and learn more.

Webinars: Success at NVSBE

NVSBE remains the most effective way to directly connect with potential Buyers in the federal and commercial markets. The Engagement also provides Veteran-owned and other small businesses the ability to interface with other large and small businesses to discuss projects, partnering opportunities, and more. Register to take part in the Success at NVSBE webinar training series to gain insights on how to maximize your engagement with Buyers at #NVSBE2018.

National Veterans Small Business Week

National Veterans Small Business Week, November 5–9, 2018, is led by the U.S. Small Business Administration to celebrate Veterans and Servicemembers who have made outstanding achievements through entrepreneurship and business ownership. Stay tuned for more information on VA OSDBU participation in this week-long recognition and targeted training event. Join the online conversation using #VetBiz.

Tiered Evaluations—Straight Talk, Straight Answers

To engage and inform the Veteran small business community, VA OSDBU hosted a Straight Talk, Straight Answers Town Hall webinar on Tiered Evaluations (also referred to as Cascading)—highlighting the procurement techniques and strategies which provide contracting officers the option to divide the evaluation of offers into tiers based on the socioeconomic status of the offeror.

Vets First Verification Program Update

New Vender Information Pages Improve Customer Service

To better support the Vets First Verification Program, new Vendor Information Pages (VIP) were rolled out in May 2018, with changes designed to improve the Verification process and online experience for Veterans. Prior to logging into the revised VIP for the first time, Veterans must register for a DS Login and non-Veterans require an ID.me account.
