ORMDI is committed to providing our Veterans and employees with world-class resources and support mechanisms to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a result of our ongoing commitment to our Veterans and employees, we have identified opportunities to create a more unified and collaborative organization. Internal analysis and legislative and congressional mandates confirm there is an opportunity and need for EEO activities across the VA to be centrally coordinated at an enterprise level. We are taking the necessary steps to ensure all nationwide EEO functions are consistent in processes and program delivery. A centrally coordinated and locally deployed organization will allow VA to achieve world-class status due to shared knowledge, expertise, and best practices as well as reduce variation and ensure standardization and consistency around the EEO process VA-wide.
Over the next year, VHA’s facility-based EEO functions will be joining ORMDI. In the next few months, we will begin the process to implement this change. More information is forthcoming. We look forward to continuing to advance the ORMDI mission with our new colleagues as one unified team.
