Happy Holidays from USMA Matt Quinn
With the holiday season upon us, I wish the best for you and your families. This special time encourages looking back at what we have done over the previous year, as we also reflect upon the most important people in our lives.
With this in mind, I want to thank you for the valuable support you provide the National Cemetery Administration every day. This has been another successful year for the dedicated team members who make sure NCA properly memorializes our nation’s heroes and takes care of their family members during their most difficult time.
This year, NCA team members completed nearly 150,000 interments of our nation’s heroes and eligible family members. We delivered approximately 396,000 Presidential Memorial Certificates and provided more than 315,000 grave markers for Veterans interred in non-VA cemeteries. NCA’s Scheduling Office handled approximately 300,000 calls during 2022. Once again, we expanded our online Veterans Legacy Memorial. Also, we started our process of including National Park Service Veterans cemeteries in VLM, by adding 20,000 Veterans resting in Andersonville and Andrew Johnson national cemeteries.
This video summarizes many of our accomplishments from 2022:
NCA Year in Review 2022
With 2022 coming to a close, I am more grateful than ever that NCA has such great partners helping us fulfill our noble obligation to care for Veterans and their families. We could not do this without you, so thank you for your dedication and valuable assistance.
As you enjoy the holidays, I encourage you to take a moment to reach out to a Veteran you know and extend thanks for serving our country. Also, please keep in your thoughts the many brave men and women serving in uniform, unable to spend these holidays at home.
Thank you for all you do for our Veterans and our nation! Happy Holidays!
