Memorial Day 2022

Dear Subscriber:

Please join me this Memorial Day in honoring the heroic men and women who have given their lives in defense of our country.

This weekend, I invite you to pay your respects to fallen Veterans at any VA national cemetery. For the first time since 2019, VA is hosting traditional, public Memorial Day ceremonies to commemorate our nation’s fallen service members. More than 120 VA national cemeteries will hold a public ceremony between May 28 and May 30. We abide by local, state and federal public health guidelines, so please check local listings to confirm that the ceremony planned for your area will be held as is currently planned.

A complete list of Memorial Day events at national cemeteries can found at: VA Memorial Day Ceremonies.

Also, please feel to watch my Memorial Day message and to share it with family members and friends – especially Veterans.

Whether you are able to attend an NCA ceremony this weekend or not, I encourage you to consider posting tributes to Veterans through our online Veterans Legacy Memorial. VLM is an important digital space for us to hold the memories of those we’ve loved and lost.

Once again, please take some time this weekend to reflect on the supreme sacrifice made by the brave service members who gave their lives defending our country. Thank you for everything you do in support of our Veterans and their families.
