Did you notice how your body felt when you woke up this morning? How about in the middle of the day or last night before you went to bed? This week’s America250 salute is Marine Veteran Angela Salinas. The first Hispanic woman to be brigadier general in the Corps, Angela Salinas was the highest ranking woman in the United States Marine Corps at the time of her retirement. For her service, her awards and decorations include a Defense Superior Service Medal and a Legion of Merit with gold star. [From VA News]

September is Suicide Prevention Month. VA is using the observation to raise awareness of Veteran suicide prevention and to highlight resources designed specifically for Veterans, family members and friends. In a new PSA, the Ad Council, VA, and Veteran filmmakers have partnered to encourage women Veterans to reach out for help when needed and remind them how to find the right VA resources. [From VA News]
