Today’s VA is focused on the needs of women Veterans and cultural transformation and aims to provide an environment free from harassment to #BringWomenVeteransHome2VA. With the support of VA Secretary McDonough, VA has introduced White Ribbon, a national call to action to eliminate sexual harassment, sexual assault and domestic violence.

Did you know: If you need mental health services related to PTSD or other mental health conditions linked to your service (including conditions related to an experience of military sexual trauma), you may qualify for VA health benefits right away, even without a VA Character of Discharge review or a discharge upgrade.

Dispelling the Myths of Women Veterans Recognition Day

Women Veterans Recognition Day is not a separate Veterans Day for women. The day, celebrated yearly on June 12, recognizes, honors and remembers the signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act allowing women the right to permanently serve in the regular armed forces.
