FEMA’s COVID-19 Funeral Expense Reimbursement Program
The FEMA Funeral Expense Reimbursement Program covers funeral expenses when a loved one’s death was related to COVID-19.
This new program, which began on April 12, 2021, can be used to reimburse a family for funeral-related expenses that VA doesn’t cover, such as the cost of the casket or urn, clergy fees and funeral home fees.

Vietnam Veterans get vaccine and belated thank you
The South Texas Veterans Health Care System Home & Community Based Care team covers thousands of miles of South Texas roads ensuring even the most rural Veterans are given the opportunity to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Army Veterans Bennie Buentello, Pedro Lopez and Gregorio Garcia were given their second round of vaccines, honored with the official 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War lapel pin and received a thank you card from VA staff.
