Gulf War Anniversary

 

Honoring the 30th Anniversary of the Gulf War

This data story provides background information and charts concerning the cohort of Veterans who served from the time of the Persian Gulf War (1990-1991) to September 11, 2001. The data story and blog also invite all Veterans to apply for the VA benefits they have earned.

 

Honoring the 70th anniversary of the Korean War

To mark the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, this data story and infographic recognizes the 6.8 million Veterans who served during the Korean War Era.  It presents their age profile in 2020, documents their decreasing numbers, recognizes women who served, and includes an interactive map showing their location by state. 

 

Minority Veterans Report: 2017

This report uses data from the 2017 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample, VetPop2016, and USVETS 2017 to report data concerning the demographics, socio-economic status, and health characteristics of minority Veterans. The report also compares VA utilization characteristics of minority Veterans to non-minority Veterans.

 

American Indian and Alaska Native Veterans: 2017 (AIAN) 

This report focuses on demographic, socio-economic, and health characteristics of AIAN Veterans and presents similar summary information for all Veterans of other races. 

 

VA Utilization Profile 2017

This profile provides demographic, socio-economic, and utilization trends of Veterans who used at least one VA benefit or service each year between FY 2008 and FY 2017. Also included is a comparison of Veterans who used VA benefits to Veterans who did not use VA benefits.

 

Veteran Population Projection Model: VetPop2018

This release is the latest in a series of Veteran Population Projection Models that provide the estimated and projected total number of Veterans and their demographic characteristics.
