Coronavirus: Be informed and call your provider if symptoms develop
Take precautions to guard against infection
- Get a flu shot
- Keep your hands clean by washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Avoid people who are sick
- Stay home and away from others when sick
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with tissues or your arm/sleeve. Dispose of tissues in the trash.
- Keep surfaces clean using disinfecting wipes
Stay home and phone
If you have symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please call your local VA medical center and select the option to speak to a nurse before visiting the facility. Tell them about your symptoms and any recent travel.

Registration to compete in the 2020 National Veterans Golden Age Games opens March 2, 2020, at 12 p.m. ET. Eligible Veterans must be age 55 and older and receive VA health care.
Registration closes once it reaches the maximum number of applicants. The Games run from June 22-27 in Madison, Wis.

While many Americans experienced the tragedy of 9/11 through their television screens, Hiram Murray experienced it first-hand while on duty as a NYPD officer. The Marine Corps Veteran would later go on to succeed in Hollywood

The Shallow Subsidy initiative provides low-income Veterans a fixed rental subsidy for up to two years. The subsidy is available to Veterans who are enrolled in the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program and live in communities characterized by high rates of homelessness and low availability of affordable housing.

On Feb. 23, 1945, four days after the initial assault on the island of Iwo Jima, Marines took control of the high ground and planted a flag atop Mt. Suribachi.
The flag raising didn’t signal the end of the fight on Iwo Jima. It did motivate the Marines and corpsmen still flushing out an entrenched enemy force.
