Filipino Veterans of World War II awarded the Congressional Gold Medal
Seventy-five years after the United States entered World War II,
Filipino Veterans received national recognition when they were recently
awarded the Congressional Gold Medal – the highest civilian honor the
United States can bestow.
VA, in collaboration with Got Your 6 and local Community Veteran Engagement Boards, will host a nationwide series of StorytellersX events in November and December. These events feature Veterans sharing their stories of post-military life.

Throughout his life, Marine Veteran Charles Harrison exhibited unfailing courage against insurmountable odds and never allowed bitterness or anger to determine the path of his future.
This week we honor Army Veteran Orvil Mann. Orvil served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.
Orvil served with the Charlie Company, 72nd Tank Battalion. On May
18, 1951, he was wounded in action. For his service, Orvil received the Bronze Star and
Purple Heart.
