VA nurse honored for compassionate care

Martha Peak-Sweet, a registered nurse at VA’s Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina, recently received such an award after a family member submitted a heartfelt letter.

Center for New American Security hosts discussion with VA Secretary Bob McDonald

With plenty of progress still to be made, McDonald discussed how the department can best position itself to continue these transformations into the future.

This week we honor Marine Corps Veteran John Glenn.

John logged 149 combat missions in two wars and was awarded numerous awards including Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal.

John was recruited to NASA and became the first American to orbit the Earth.
