Vietnam Veterans honored for service, sacrifice; Granting a Veteran’s final wish
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs sent this bulletin at 04/01/2016 09:30 AM EDT
A woman Veteran’s final wish granted with a personal touch
When Gulf War Veteran Laura Thompson was diagnosed with terminal cancer
only six months after marrying her soul mate, VA volunteers at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center stepped in with their “Final Mission” -- a honeymoon, an engraved
wedding ring for her soulmate and wooden keepsake boxes for each of her
children.
Thank you to VA physicians, nearly 25,000 strong, who each and every
day demonstrate their caring and commitment to this country’s Veterans. National Doctor’s Day recognizes the contributions of doctors to individual lives and communities.
VA CIO named to Fedscoop’s Top 50 women in technology
On the last day of Women’s History Month, Fedscoop unveiled its list of D.C.’s Top 50 women in technology. On the list is LaVerne Council, VA’s chief information officer.

VETERAN OF THE WEEK
This week we honor the
men and women who served during the Vietnam War. Nine million
Americans, approximately 7 million living today, served between November
1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, whether in-country, in-theater or stationed
elsewhere during those 20 years. All answered the call of duty.
