Why Foreign Producers Should Have More than One Account Manager in myTTB
We continue to receive a high number of calls and contact forms from foreign producers who no longer have access to their myTTB accounts because their sole account manager is unavailable or no longer represents the company. When a foreign producer has only one manager and no additional authorized users, the foreign producer will not be able to make CBMA tax benefit assignments without that account manager.
How can foreign producers prevent account access issues?
To prevent access issues, we strongly encourage foreign producers to designate more than one manager and/or user for their myTTB accounts.
A person with a manager role can edit the foreign producer’s registration information, designate additional persons or remove persons authorized to act on the foreign producer’s behalf, and assign CBMA tax benefits to U.S. importers. A person with a user role can edit the registration information and assign CBMA tax benefits but cannot manage others’ access to the account. Ideally, foreign producers should designate multiple managers so they can retain uninterrupted full access to their myTTB account.
How can foreign producers manage access to their account?
For detailed instructions, see “Step 5 – Add Authorized Users” in our Foreign Producer Registration and CBMA Tax Benefit Assignment myTTB System User Guide.

Avoid Getting Locked Out of Permits Online: Know Your Password and Change it Every 60 Days
We frequently receive calls from Permits Online users locked out of their accounts. This typically happens for one of two reasons: too many failed password attempts or an expired password. Once locked out, you will not be able to sign in until your password is reset.
How can I prevent getting locked out?
Following these tips will help to save you from getting locked out of your Permits Online account:
- Know your Permits Online password before attempting to log in. Remember that your COLAs Online or Formulas Online login credentials will not work in Permits Online. If you’ve forgotten your password, you should change it to a new one: After several failed attempts to log in, your account will be locked.
- Your Permits Online password expires every 60 days. Remember to log in and change your password before it expires for continuous access. If you do not, your account will be locked.
How can I change my password?
Learn how to reset your Permits Online password using our instructions at TTB.gov.
If you are already locked out, or need additional assistance with access to your account, please contact the Call Center.
