TTB Announces Selection of New Director of Alcohol Labeling and Formulation Division
TTB is very pleased to announce that Angela Jeffries has been selected to lead TTB’s Alcohol Labeling and Formulation Division (ALFD) as its Director, effective January 14, 2024.
Angela has 30 years combined experience as an attorney and regulatory policy expert. She has been the Assistant Director of the Wine Labeling Office in ALFD since March 2022, but has been acting Director of ALFD since October 2023.
Angela was previously the Deputy Director of TTB’s Regulations and Rulings Division for 12 years where she led the development, coordination, and implementation of many important regulatory initiatives. She provided statutory, regulatory, and policy analysis of excise tax laws and product labeling laws related to the manufacture, export, and import of alcohol and tobacco products.
Before joining TTB, Angela worked at the Federal Aviation Administration as an attorney providing legal counsel on aviation safety issues. Angela’s early government career also included service with the Department of Agriculture and with the DC Government as an attorney in the Office of the Mayor, Office of Legal Counsel.
Angela earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Tuskegee University and a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.

SUMMARY: The Commission hereby gives notice of the institution of investigations and commencement of preliminary phase antidumping and countervailing duty investigation Nos. 701–TA–703 and 731–TA–1661–1663 (Preliminary) pursuant to the Tariff Act of 1930 (‘‘the Act’’) to determine whether there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the United States is materially injured or threatened with material injury, or the establishment of an industry in the United States is materially retarded, by reason of imports of glass wine bottles from Chile, China, and Mexico, provided for in subheading 7010.90.50 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, that are alleged to be sold in the United States at less than fair value and alleged to be subsidized by the Government of China. Unless the Department of Commerce (‘‘Commerce’’) extends the time for initiation, the Commission must reach a preliminary determination in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations in 45 days, or in this case by February 12, 2024. The Commission’s views must be transmitted to Commerce within five business days thereafter, or by February 20, 2024.
