TTB Wants Your Input on Trade Practices
As required by Executive Order 14036, Promoting Competition in the American Economy, the Treasury Department released a report on competition in the markets for beer, wine, and spirits that recommended TTB consider rulemaking in areas including trade practice regulations. In response to the report, we have issued an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM): Notice No. 216, Consideration of Updates to Trade Practice Regulations.
Through the ANPRM, we are seeking public comment to assist us in determining whether to proceed with developing specific regulatory proposals related to the Federal Alcohol Administration Act’s exclusive outlet, tied house, commercial bribery, and consignment sales prohibitions.
We request comments from industry members, consumers, and anyone interested in whether TTB should proceed with regulatory initiatives concerning the issues described in Notice No. 216. View the notice published in the Federal Register on November 9, 2022.
To view all documents and comments received related to the ANPRM, see Docket No. TTB-2022-0011 at Regulations.gov. To submit comments electronically, use the comment form for Notice No. 216 posted at Regulations.gov. To submit comments by postal mail, see the instructions in the notice.
Comments on the ANPRM must be received before March 9, 2023.
