Updates on Permitting and Taxation Leadership
Dan Riordan, Assistant Administrator for Permitting and Taxation, is retiring! His last day with TTB is Friday, January 28.
Since April 2017, Dan has served as the Assistant Administrator for Permitting and Taxation, overseeing the National Revenue Center, which is responsible for permitting new alcohol and tobacco businesses and collecting billions in federal excise taxes from these industries.
Dan has brought an innovative spirit toward solving some of the bureau's most complicated challenges. Under his leadership, we have transformed customer service in permitting, deploying a revamped Permits Online system as well as other strategies that reduced permit approval times by 65 percent (from 96 to 34 days). Transformations in tax are also well underway.
Dan's strategic vision and charismatic leadership will be missed. We wish him a happy and healthy retirement!
