On July 28, 2021, the Department of the Treasury published a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit input on the current market structure and conditions of competition in the American markets for beer, wine, and spirits, including an assessment of any threats to competition and barriers to new entrants. This RFI was in response to Executive Order 14036, Promoting Competition in the American Economy, which requires Treasury to submit a report to the White House within 120 days of the July 9 Order.
As announced in the RFI, Treasury requested public comments by August 18 so that it could give them full consideration. Treasury will continue accepting comments, including supplemental comments, beyond August 18 and consider them to the extent feasible given its report deadline. To this end, Regulations.gov will be open for comments through October 1, 2021.
You may view the Request for Information (Notice No. 204) and Executive Order 14036 at Regulations.gov within Docket No. TTB–2021–0007. Please submit comments electronically using the comment form for Notice 204 posted within that docket.
