Readout from Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent’s Meeting with President Javier Milei of Argentina

BUENOS ARIES – Today, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent met with President Javier Milei of Argentina. During their meeting, Secretary Bessent affirmed the United States’ full support for President Milei’s bold economic reforms, and commended him for his government’s early move to reduce barriers towards reciprocal trade with the United States. The Secretary also congratulated the President on Argentina’s recent, successful negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and emphasized the United States’ trust in President Milei to continue advancing Argentina’s positive economic momentum.
