Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen to Visit Canada and Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota

WASHINGTON – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will travel to Toronto, Canada on June 20 and to the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota on June 21.

In Toronto, Secretary Yellen will participate in meetings and events with Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Christia Freeland. The Secretary will reinforce the importance of continuing to work in close cooperation with our allies and multilateral partners to address global challenges and promote an inclusive economic recovery. 

In South Dakota, Secretary Yellen will highlight the disproportionate impact the pandemic has had on Tribal communities and how American Rescue Plan funds are supporting their recovery. She will tour and learn about investments the Rosebud Sioux Tribe are making to promote affordable housing and economic development.
