The Veteran of the Year award serves as recognition to honor the remarkable contributions of Veterans in our community, but it all starts with a Veteran of the Week nomination.
This nomination process honors South Carolina Veterans, while also educating our youth and citizens about Veterans who have honorably served and continue to make contributions to the Palmetto State. If you know of a deserving Veteran, please nominate them below.

Always verify calls or emails claiming to be from Veterans' services through official channels like SCDVA, your County Veterans' Affairs Officer, and the VA. Never share sensitive info unless you're sure of the source. You're encouraged to report suspicious phone calls, emails, or social media content.
All suspected criminal activity should be reported to the VA Office of Inspector General (OIG):
