3rd Annual Memorial 5k Run honoring 1st LT. Justice R. Stewart
Entering its third year, the annual memorial 5k run honoring U.S. Marine 1st LT Justice R. Stewart will be held Sunday, April 14 at Richland Northeast Stadium, 7500 Brookfield Road. The 5K celebrates the life and legacy of 1st LT Stewart, who was tragically killed by an impaired driver in June 2021 in North Carolina while jogging.
1st LT Stewart was a standout ROTC graduate of Richland Northeast High and was well on her way to becoming a Captain in the Marines. Now, her legacy continues to touch the lives of Veterans, servicemembers, and their families within the Richland Two School District community and nationally through the work of the Empowering Justice Charitable Foundation.
In the coming week, SCDVA will honor 1st LT Stewart's legacy by continuing to share her story from the perspective of those who knew her, those who love her, and those who have been empowered by her legacy.
