Richland County School District One is a Purple Star School District
Richland County School District One was designated as a Purple Star School District, during a ceremony held in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Education and the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC).
The Military Child Education Coalition is the national advocate for Purple Star Schools, a program that supports military-connected children as they relocate to new schools due to a parent’s change in duty station.
The South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs along with the South Carolina Department of Education work in partnership with MCEC to ensure South Carolina's military children have the resources and connections needed to transition to schools in the Palmetto State.
