Aiken County
Dwight L. Bradham, Jr.
Aiken County Veterans' Affairs Officer
"I served 32 years, rising from an E-1 Private to a Major. During that time, through multiple conflicts, the service members I served with did incredible things! I became a recruiter, then as an officer. I developed, created and led a unit of non-commissioned officers, and new recruits to prepare those recruits to be successful in their military careers. We instilled in those recruits a values system, a code to live by to ensure the next generation of service members are prepared to embody the ideals of the United States of America and protect our way of life. I carry those values with me today – those veterans who served, in peace and in times of conflict, throughout our Nation’s history, are my buddies on my left and my right. I have the opportunity now to 'Serve Those Who Have Served,' who may be in struggle and have taken a knee, to help them rise up and carry on… I tell my children when they ask, 'Daddy, are you a hero?'... 'No, but I served with some…'”

Ms. Quarles is a zealous advocate for our veterans and their dependents, understanding from her own service their experiences and the benefits our VA can provide – this is reflected in her superior work ethic, adoration for military medical records, professionalism and attention to detail to 'Serve Those Who Served…'”

Pickens County
Sherry L. Harris
Pickens County Veterans' Affairs Officer
"My service with the Pickens County Veterans' Affairs office began in August 2015. In 2017, the Veterans of Pickens County put their faith and trust in me by allowing me to serve as their Veterans' Affairs Officer. Almost four years later, it has certainly been rewarding and challenging at times, but the bonds that have been formed with our Veterans and families makes it worth coming to the office every day. As a Veteran of the United States Army myself, I want to say 'Thanks to all the men and women who wore the Uniform for allowing me to continue to serve you.'"
