USPTO seeking comments on locations for community engagement offices in the Southeast Region
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is interested in opening community engagement offices in the 10-state area of the Southeast Region. The 10-state area includes: Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
We invite the public to suggest one or more potential locations for these offices. Comments should be submitted to NewOffices@uspto.gov by March 30, 2026.
The USPTO has reimagined its outreach footprint as an agile model for community engagement—high-touch points of presence planted right in the heart of local innovation ecosystems. The USPTO’s community engagement offices are designed as centers for the cultivation and expansion of vibrant innovation, investment, and entrepreneurship supported by intellectual property. For more information about the USPTO’s intent and goals for community engagement, along with a list of specific questions to be addressed in any comments, please consult the Federal Register Request for Comments.
