Closing of the USPTO on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 26, 2025

In view of the official closing of the Federal Government offices, including the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), on Wednesday, December 24, and Friday, December 26, the USPTO will consider Wednesday, December 24, and Friday, December 26, to be holidays. Since Thursday, December 25, is also a holiday, the USPTO will consider actions or fees due on Wednesday, December 24, through Friday, December 26, to be timely if taken or paid no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, December 29, which is the next business day on which the USPTO is scheduled to be open.

The USPTO will issue an Official Gazette notice in due course and post it on its Patent Related Notices webpage.
