PTAB practice change: AIA Petition Notice of Filing Date Accorded
Effective immediately, to provide greater certainty to the parties and the public regarding filing deadlines and expected decision timelines, any inter partes review (IPR) or post-grant review (PGR) petition received by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) will have a Notice of Filing Date Accorded issued no later than 14 days from the petition filing date, absent good cause that impacts the ability of the PTAB to notice the case, such as Federal holidays, weather emergencies, or other circumstances that lead to an unusual filing volume on a given day.
For more information, see our Notice of Filing Date Accorded for AIA Petitions memorandum.
