Datasets for Final Petition Decisions from the Commissioner for Patents now in Open Data Portal
We have released a new feature in the Open Data Portal (ODP) in which you can now search, view, and extract datasets for Final Petition Decisions from the Commissioner for Patents.
This release includes:
- Final petition decisions issued in 2022 or later
- Monthly additions of newly issued final petition decisions
- Petition filtering options by consideration, statute, and rule
Final petition decisions issued prior to 2022 will be added to ODP monthly, starting with the most recent datasets. Eventually, the datasets will cover final petition decisions for patents and published applications filed in 2001 or later. See what's currently available in our release notes.

The Final Decisions – Commissioner for Patents webpage on the USPTO website will no longer include updated petition decisions. It will provide archived petition decisions and links that direct you to ODP for updated decisions.
