New Madrid Protocol webpages for international trademark applicants
We are pleased to announce updates to the Madrid Protocol content on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website. The new webpages are available on the Madrid Protocol landing page. We’ve updated the content to make it easier to understand and include:
- An overview of the Madrid Protocol process
- Instructions on how to apply for an international trademark registration
- An explanation of what happens after submitting an international application
- Details on how to maintain your international registration
Additionally, the webpages are now specifically targeted for outbound applicants, those who want to use the Madrid Protocol to apply for registrations in other countries, and inbound applicants, those who want to use the Madrid Protocol to apply for a U.S. trademark registration.
If you would like to leave feedback on the new webpages, scroll to the bottom of any page and either:
- Select the "Helpful" or "Not Helpful" buttons toward the bottom of the page
- Select "Trademarks" where it says "Submit feedback about this page to Trademarks." in the webpage footer
