Mandatory ID verification for trademark filers starts August 6

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has announced that beginning August 6, 2022, all USPTO.gov account holders will be required to verify their identities as a condition for filing trademark forms in the Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and TEAS International (TEASi). This mandatory identity verification process is part of the USPTO’s efforts to protect customers from scams and fraudulent activities related to the trademark register. For more information, visit the identity verification for trademark filers page and our recent blog on the USPTO website.
