Every year on April 26, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) celebrates World Intellectual Property (IP) Day. This annual international event is an opportunity to learn about the role that IP rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity. The theme of this year’s celebration is “IP for a Better Future: Young Innovators," and focuses on how young innovators are stepping up to solve innovation challenges across the globe.
Join us and our partner organizations on April 26, from 1-3 p.m. ET for a special program to celebrate World IP Day 2022.
The program will include:
- A fireside chat with Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO; Shira Perlmutter, Register of Copyrights and Director of the U.S. Copyright Office; and Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Office, on how to promote IP adoption among young innovators
- Discussions on supporting IP protection and awareness in sustainable technologies
- Presentations by U.S. legislators on current IP initiatives before Congress
