Action May be Needed – Upcoming Change to

e-Filing Portal

We previously announced that PBGC will launch a new and improved e-Filing Portal on February 1, 2024, and that starting then, the only way to log in to the e-Filing Portal will be via Login.gov. In case you haven’t yet had time to review the e-Filing Portal Login.gov FAQs, we wanted to highlight one issue that could impact your ability to automatically retain access prior filings (e.g., for record keeping purposes, to pre-populate a new filing).

If the email address associated with your Login.gov account is the same as the email address associated with your e-Filing Portal account immediately before the transition, you will automatically retain access to previously submitted filings. If that is not the case, it will still be possible to access prior filings after that transition, but the process will be cumbersome. As such, we strongly recommend you make sure the email address associated with your current e-Filing Portal account is the same as the one you use (or plan to use) for Login.gov.

Please log in to your e-Filing Portal account as soon as possible and click “Manage Account” at the top to refresh your memory as to which email address is associated with your account.

If that email is not the same as what you use (or plan to use) for Login.gov, click the “edit” button at the top of the “Manage Account” page and change your email to the one you use (or plan to use) for your Login.gov account. Don’t forget to click “Save”, when you’re done.

Be sure to do this no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on January 31 to ensure you retain access to all of the information in your current e-Filing Portal account.

If you have any questions, please contact efiling.portal@pbgc.gov.
